FAQs

How do I access my test results?

You can expect two emails from GnomeDX. The first email contains a unique token number and instructions on how to use the Patient Portal to view your results. You will receive a second email that will notify you when your results are ready.

How long does it take to get results?

Results are typically posted 24 hours after the laboratory receives your sample.

Please allow an additional 24 hours if your sample was collected on a Saturday or Sunday. In rare instances, an additional 24 hours is needed for repeat testing of inconclusive results.

What if I have a positive result?

Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 on a PCR Test should isolate and follow CDC guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/isolation.html

What is the cost of the PCR Test?

As long as the testing is mandated or medically necessary, the cost of testing will be covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance, or through a federally-funded program for the uninsured. The cash price for the testing through our partner facilities is $100 USD.

Please contact our partner facilities directly to determine any additional fees such as office visit charges.

What is the difference between a Gnome PCR Test and Rapid Antigen Test?

The PCR Test is the CDC Gold Standard to determine if an individual is currently infected with the COVID-19 virus (even if they do not show symptoms). The sample is collected as a nasal or throat swab.

The sensitivity of rapid Antigen Tests is generally lower than PCR. Antigen levels in specimens collected 5-7 days after the onset of symptoms may drop below the test’s limit of detection. This may produce a negative test result, while a more sensitive test, such as PCR, may return a positive result.

I am having trouble accessing my results in the portal.

If you have entered your token number and last name, and a pink box appears that says, “Your report is not yet ready!” that means that we have your sample, but we are still working on your results.

You don’t have to keep hitting refresh! You will receive an email when your results are ready to view.

I did not receive a token number, and it has been more than 24 hours.

If you have not received an email with your token number within 24 hours after your sample collection (48 hours if your sample was collected outside of the Greater Columbus area and had to be shipped to the lab), check your junk or spam mailbox first.

If you still do not see an email, contact info@gnomedx.com or call 614-431-6414.

Why did I receive a bill through GnomeDX?

If insurance covers your test, the only reason you would receive a bill from GnomeDX is if your insurance has sent you a check as a reimbursement for the cost of testing. Although this payment for testing is usually made directly to the lab, occasionally, it is paid to the patient. If you receive a check from your insurance company paying you for testing, you can either endorse that check and send it to GnomeDX or pay the invoice that you receive from us.

Please email info@gnomedx.com or call 614-431-6414 with any questions.
